Dee Ahima is an illustrator with a passion for visual storytelling

I love comics, children’s literature, and animation and I have also studied computer science, film and media studies, studio art, and creative writing. I enjoy bringing together my interests and experiences in my work. For me, art is both creative expression and an intellectual challenge. My favorite part of illustration is problem solving and coming up with unique solutions!

Art has the amazing potential for conveying stories and touching hearts. Art can introduce people to new worlds, to new ways of thinking, and to the power of their own imaginations. Human beings are natural storytellers; the kind of stories I want to tell reflect the amazing potential of each of us, as well as the rich diversity of life on our planet. I believe storytelling can change the world for the better by connecting people with the infinite possibilities of life and love, in themselves and others. Animation, illustration, comics, literature, music, and art opened my eyes to the wonders of our world and my ability to bring about positive change when I was young. I’m determined to do the same for others through my storytelling!
